Dr. Juan “Jim” Sanchez, Jr. is a General Surgeon, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, author, and  founder of RP Healthcraft Carrier Foundation  known as the Hospital on Wheels (HOW).


Postgraduate Training:

– Training in Aesthetic, Craniofacial & Microvascular Surgery at the  Eastern Virginia Medical School, 1992-1993, Norfolk, VA, U.S.A.


 Licensure and Certification Examinations:

  –  Second Place, 1987, Philippine Board of Surgery Examination

  –  First Place, 1991, Philippine Board of Plastic Surgery Examination.

Achievement and Awards:

– Diplomate; Philippine Board of General Surgery and Philippine Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery,

– Fellow:  Philippine College of Surgeons and Philippine Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons.

Medical Field Services:

– Written more than 10 books in the medical field including Nerve Blocks Made Simple, Asian Rhinoplasty and First Aid & Basic Life Support.

–  Has joined  in several local and international surgical missions since 1985.

– Founded the Hospital On Wheels (HOW) on September 17, 2007 in Quezon City, Philippines.

– HOW, with the help of local partners: the Rotary Club, the Thomasian Medical Student’s Fraternity, and international partners: the Friends Who Care, UST Medicine Class ’80 and UST Medical Alumni Associations, has conducted more than 300 Missions all over the country, mostly in Luzon. Over 20,000 indigent surgical patients have benefited in these missions.

– Speaker  in both local and international medical conventions.

–   Member of the board of directors of the Philippine Red Cross Quezon City.

Humanitarian and Service Awards:

– Outstanding Rotarian Award RI 3780 in 2008 & 2009, the Rotary Golden Wheel Award RI 3780 in 2018,

– Gawad Pilipinoy Award in 2017, the Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hometown Hero Award in 2019,

– UST Medical Alumni Association in America Jose Rizal Humanitarian Service Award, 2017,

–  Outstanding Thomasian Alumni (TOTAL) Award in 2017,

– Thomasian Outstanding Alumni Scientist Tribute (TOAST) Award,2018.

– Thomasian Medical Alumni (THOMAS) Award in 2020. He was nominated for the CNN Hero Award in 2017 and 2019, 

World Class Excellence Japan Award, 2022


– American Association of the Philippines, Profiles in Excellence Award 2021- 2022.
